Biography/History:
The Hatch Act, passed on March 2, 1887, authorized establishment of the land-grant college agricultural experiment stations. The New Hampshire Agricultural Experiment Station was formed in August of 1887 as a department of the New Hampshire College of Agriculture and the Mechanic Arts in Hanover, NH. The College moved to Durham, NH in 1893 and became the University of New Hampshire in 1923.
