History:
The President's Commission on the Status of Women was formed in 1972. The commission is made up of ten University women representing faculty, PAT's (professional, administrative, technical staff), operating staff, graduate and undergraduate students. The Commission began producing a newsletter concerning women's issues at the University of New Hampshire in 1979.

In May, 2004 the Connections expanded to become the voice of the President's Commissions on the Status of Women, the Status of People of Color, and the Status of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Issues.
