History
Following the resignation of President Harold W. Stoke in August of 1947, the Board of Trustees spent the fall semester choosing a successor. During this period the President of the Board of Trustees, Frank W. Randall, served as Interim Executive Officer. However, because Randall was active in business, Dean Lauren E. Seeley of the College of Technology actually handled most of the business of the Office of the President.
On January 17, 1948 Dr. Arthur S. Adams was elected President of the University of New Hampshire. Adams formally took office in June of 1948.
Scope and Content
This series contains the files of the President's Office from 1947-1948, including materials on the Peace Day Rally, and correspondence with college deans.
