Biography/History:
The position of Executive Secretary was created in 1918 to assist the president. The duties were to assist the president in daily procedures and to organize events on campus. The title changed in 1937 to Assistant to the President but the duties remained the same.
Scope and Content:
This series contains the files of the Executive Secretary to the President of the University of New Hampshire. The position changed to Assistant to the President in 1937. The files deal mostly with the various summer conferences and institutes held on the UNH campus. There are also file referring to the Army Specialized Training Program (ASTP). These files cover three different individuals who held the position: Edward Y. Blewett, 1930-39; Arwood Northby, 1939-44 and Francis E. Robinson, 1944-45.
