History:
The Forest Hills Hotel in Franconia NH, was given to the Univesity in 1960 to supplement its program in hotel administration. During the summers of 1973 and 1974, the Whittemore School of Business and Economics, in cooperation with the Community Action Agency of Coos, Carroll and Grafton Counties and the White Mountains Region Association, under the auspices of the School for continuing Studies, operated the Waumbek Inn and country Club in Jefferson. The Inn was used as a training program directed towards the needs of the North Country, providing 60-75 North Country youths with new job skills in the hotel-motel field.

Scope and Content:
This series contains the audit report of the 1962 operations of Forest Hills Hotel and the correspondence and lease concerning the operation of the Waumbek Inn by the University of New Hampshire.
