Rededication of Daggett Reading Room |

Gwynne Harris Daggett taught English and Humanities at UNH from 1942 to 1969. In 1972 the forum room in the Dimond Library was dedicated to Daggett for his accomplisments as a teacher as well as a champion of academic freedom. When the library was renovated in 1998, his portrait, painted by UNH artist, John Hatch, was hung in a reading area on level four, which was rededicated as the Daggett Reading Room on June 11, 1999. The event was was filmed on home video by his daughter, Barbara D. Merriam. |
